Not too long ago, I found an album that I had been looking for for years! The Woodstock 94 double album.
My parents bought me that album when I was 15, and I listened to it a lot! So I listened to it again when I found it, and it brought back so many memories.
But one this I realised when giving it the first listen in years was how many bands were on that album that I had never heard of back in the days. I mean, there was Aerosmith, Metallica, Peter Gabriel, those I knew! But the band list on that album was incredible… Live, Nine Inch Nails, Primus, Cranberries, Blind Melon, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Pepper, Sheryl Crow, Collective Soul, and even old acts like Bob Dylan, Crosby Stills And Nash, Joe Cocker… Even Salt N’ Peppa and Cypress Hill were there! Those are all bands that, as a 15 year old, back in 1994, I had never heard of. This album made me discover a lot of music today, made me broaden my spectrum of rock music, which up to that point consisted of Guns N’ Roses, Metallica and Nirvana.
So if you have a chance, try to find the album and give it a listen. It is truly a tribute to the amazing music we had in the 90s!
